Best Time To Visit?
The best time to visit Bhutan is in April and May, when the valleys are alive with blossoming rhododendrons, the weather is comfortably warm, and the mountain views are at their clearest. These months are perfect for trekking, exploring ancient cloisters, and experiencing the country’s stunning natural beauty without the crowds of the high season.
For those seeking a quieter experience, May is ideal. You’ll still enjoy vibrant festivals, lush landscapes and pleasant temperatures, but in a more relaxed atmosphere. If you plan ahead, November also offers clear skies and fewer tourists, while June and December are great choices for budget-conscious travelers.
What To Do?
Paro is the heart of Bhutan’s beauty and culture, mingling adventure, history and relaxation. Begin your journey with a hike to the stunning Tiger’s Nest Monastery, dramatically perched on a cliff. Explore Paro Dzong, an impressive fortress with breathtaking views of the valley, or visit the National Museum to immerse yourself in Bhutan’s rich heritage.
For nature lovers, take a scenic walk through Paro’s lush valleys, enjoy a picnic by the Paro River, or bike through traditional villages. If you’re visiting in the spring, don’t miss a walk through the blooming mountain meadows.
At the Hotel?
After a day of adventure, relax in the hotel’s spa and wellness center, take a dip in the indoor pool, or enjoy a workout in the fitness center. End the evening with a delicious meal at the restaurant, then relax on your private balcony with breathtaking views of the valley. Gather family and friends around the BBQ facilities for an intimate evening and make the most of your stay in this magical destination.
Food and Drinks?
Bhutanese cuisine is spicy and traditional. Try Ema Datshi, Bhutan’s famous chili and cheese dish, or keep it simple and warm with a bowl of Phaksha Paa, a rich pork stew with red chilies. If you love dumplings, try momos, delicious steamed or fried dumplings filled with meat or vegetables. For a hearty breakfast, enjoy buckwheat pancakes or red rice porridge, both local specialties. Pair your meal with suja (butter tea), a drink unique to Bhutan and perfect for chilly mountain mornings. In the evening, relax with a cup of Ara, Bhutan’s traditional rice wine, or enjoy a cozy dinner by the fire with a hot bowl of Thukpa, a comforting noodle soup.

Gave the apartment a 5 out of 5 rating.
„Thanks to Pema( manager) and the staff made it memorable stay. The only Bhutanese themed property in Bhutan. Seven star service for the property, service and the food. All requests small and big from tour organization, photo shoot and special meal requests were all accomadted. A very big thank you. Highly recomended if you are visitng Bhutan, it is must stay to get a true Bhutanese experience rather then staying at a chain hotel. The hotel acutally has temple inside it as well. This is a 7 star property. National Geographic heritage hotel. It is a rare gem. Pema can also help with organizing tours and transport very reliable. Shiv & Smeeksha“

Really expensive, yet one of the most fascinating hotels of your travel life.
„Unbelievably stunning. Located a stone’s throw from the trail to the Tiger’s Nest, the Zhiwaling Heritage is a treat for anyone visiting Bhutan. Whether you’re just arriving into Paro Airport, or staying while you climb to the Nest, you will love this place. 2- and 3-story buildings with two rooms on each floor for excellent privacy. Excellent restaurants (actually one kitchen with several dining rooms), a nice bar, and the most impressive lobby you’ve ever seen. While we were there in winter, and the grass and landscaping were obviously looking forward to spring, the place was still gorgeous.“
